Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkages
Northern Essex Community College is the lead agency for the local Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkage consortium composed of Greater Lawrence Technical High, Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School, Methuen High School, and Shawsheen Valley Regional Technical High School. Through this consortium the college and high schools engage in cooperative ventures that benefit Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkage students. For example, articulation agreements are entered into through active collaboration between the faculty of NECC and the instructors in the high schools. These agreements provide students the opportunity to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school. These credits are posted to the student transcript upon admission to NECC at no charge. Qualified students must have graduated from high school as a Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkage student in an articulated program pathway, or have graduated from an articulated secondary or postsecondary program. Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkage and other qualified students must provide evidence of their eligibility upon admission to the college for proper placement within their program and posting of earned transfer credit.
Secondary PostSecondary CVTE Linkage offers:
- Educator Workshops and Seminars
- Student College and Career Events
- Counseling services for students transitioning between high school and college or training
- Career Planning
