NECC Sponsors Women Returning to School Fair
Women who are thinking about enrolling in college, especially those who have been out of school for a number of years, are invited to attend a Women Returning to School Information Event at Northern Essex Community College on Monday evening, November 16. The free event will begin at 6 p.m. in the Technology Center on the college's Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St. and children are welcome.
The Information Event is designed to help ease common anxieties and apprehensions about returning to school after being away from the classroom for some time.
NECC students and graduates who successfully returned to school, including Donna Marquis of East Kingston, NH, who enrolled at Northern Essex after a job lay-off and is now a member of the college's dental assisting faculty, will share their stories with women in the audience.
In addition, participants will learn how to enroll, apply for financial aid, and access support services.
"After attending, you'll feel confident that going back to school can happen for you finally wherever you decide to go," says Charles Diggs, director of enrollment services. "You'll also know about all of the wonderful opportunities available at Northern Essex."
