Veterans’ Services
Overview
When Brian Woodworth, a graduate of the Citadel, Middlebury College, and the University of Bridgeport Law School, was looking to further his career by become proficient in Spanish, it was Northern Essex Community College that he turned to. Woodworth completed all seven Spanish language courses offered by the college. This former Green Beret now translates Spanish documents into English as part of an intelligence operation for the U.S. Army.
Northern Essex Community College is committed to assisting our U.S. military veterans with navigating the educational process so they can achieve their educational and professional goals.

NECC Veterans’ Services office is conveniently located in the Student One-Stop Center in the Behrakis Building on the Haverhill campus at 100 Elliott St. The college has created a “veteran-friendly” environment that encourages veterans and their families, through a simplified step-by-step process, to explore the available educational benefits and opportunities.
Whether you are a new student who has completed your service or an existing NECC student whose education was interrupted by military service, NECC's Veterans’ Services is here to help guide you through the sometimes daunting process of deciphering educational benefits, funding resources, NECC’s application and assessment process, and prior credit and/or transfer opportunities.
In addition, the NECC Veterans’ Services can help you with referrals to other community resources that handle counseling, housing, transportation, etc.
