General Professional Licensure
Northern Essex participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) between member states, districts, and territories of the United States. It establishes national standards for the offering of distance education courses and programs, including practicums, internships and clinical education, to simplify processes for out-of-state residents.
NECC was approved as a SARA-member institution in 2018 by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
We are also required to provide information on educational programs designed to meet the mandates for specific professional licensure or certification required for employment. Below is a list of NECC programs that fulfill requirement(s) for state-mandated licensure.
Direct disclosure notices are provided to students residing in states where a NECC program does not meet (or has not been determined to meet) that state’s requirements.
