Workshops

The GURC at NECC offers workshops related to a variety of topics, some of which are: literacy, family involvement, transition from school to post secondary education and employment, educational interpreting, mental health, and student development. We can work with you to plan a workshop or conference that will meet the training needs of your school or agency.

10/10/2024 Being Michelle Movie Screening and Panel at NECC

BEING MICHELLE is a feature-length documentary film about a Deaf woman with autism who survived incarceration and abuse, and now uses her artwork to depict the trauma she survived and heal from her past.

Doors open at 5:00 p.m. and the event starts at 6:00 p.m.

The screening of BEING MICHELLE will be held in

Room 103, Hartleb Technology Center
Northern Essex Community College
100 Elliott Street, Haverhill, MA

The movie is accessible in English, English Captions, and ASL with English Voice Over

It will be followed by a one-hour panel discussion in ASL and English.
The panel discussion will take place after the film, at 7:30 p.m.
The panel will include a member of the film team, as well as local community leaders and advocates.

Drinks and refreshments will be provided:
