Mental Health through the Lens of Education: Success at College is Possible

November 19, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Do you, a friend or family member live with a mental health condition? Are you concerned that this could disrupt dreams for a college education? One in 5 families have someone who has a mental health diagnosis, and many colleges and high schools are seeing an increase in students who have these issues.

    • You are invited to a panel discussion called “Mental Health Through the Lens of Education: A College Education is Possible.”  A panel of staff, faculty and students will share their perspectives about how to navigate the education challenges, learn about accommodations and other services available at colleges, how to plan for your future, and when to ask for additional help. You will hear stories of success, hope and encouragement. In addition, there will be tables from local mental health organizations with information about local mental health services.
    • This free workshop (cosponsored by NECC, NAMI Northeast Essex, and Essex North DMH site board,) is open to everyone: Families, Students (High School and College) Educators, Professionals, Veterans, employers, Individuals with Lived Experience, Mental Health Providers.      For more information contact jfortna@necc.mass.edu
