Vending Machines During the Summer
In order to help keep food fresh, some vending machines will not be filled over the summer. Signs have been posted on these machines noting where the nearest stocked machine is located.

The NECC Snack Bar located in the lobby of the Sport and Fitness Center last day open will May 2nd and reopen Fall Semester 2024.

The Perfect Blend Cafe located in the Spurk Building las day open will be on May 2nd and reopen Fall Semester 2024.
Bookstore:

This is NOT a simulation. This will be held by officers from the NECC Police department. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course, designed and built on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.

Speechapalooza to be held April 25
Speechapalooza, an event celebrating student speech, organized by students in the Principles of Public Relations, will be held in Spurk Building’s Lecture Hall A, Thursday, April 25, from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Students are encouraged to participate in the activities of Speechapalooza and incentives for participating are included but not limited to eating free pizza as well as possibly winning a prize. For more information about the event itself please contact Professor Mary Jo Shafer at mshafer@necc.mass.edu. Students are still recruiting student participants so if you are interested in participating, please get in touch.

Meet Winnie!
Just nine weeks old, this beautiful Yellow Labrador Retriever will soon serve as a comfort dog for those us who can’t help but feel our stress and troubles melt away (at least for a moment) when greeted by this kind and loving creature.
She heads off for basic training on April 22nd. Wish Winnie well!

The Knights defeated Quincy College 80 to 69 in the Region 21/East District Championship hosted at NECC.
The national championship bracket will be announced Wed., Mar. 6.
The national championship tournament will be held March 13-16 at Herkimer College in Herkimer, NY.

The library is running a trial to the CultureGrams database, which contains primary-source reports on 209 countries and territories. The reports focus on 25 cultural categories, including language, personal appearance, greetings, visiting, family, life cycle and more. The trial runs through 2/28/24, and feedback can be provided on the website.
