The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week will be observed Sept. 9-15, 2024. Follow the celebrations on social media at hashtag #HSIsWeek.
HSIs are defined as having 25% or more undergraduate Hispanic student full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment.
In 2024, the NECC student population reached 47% Hispanic – most of whom are from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
In 2001, NECC was the first-designated Hispanic Serving Institution amongst all colleges and universities across New England.
