Honor Societies
Many NECC students are also recognized for their academic and leadership accomplishments through these national and international honor societies.
Students are not required to enroll in the Commonwealth Honors Program for such recognition.
29 Who Shine
Each year the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts celebrates one student from each of the state’s community colleges, state universities, and UMass campuses. These students show exceptional academic achievement and civic engagement.
Alpha Beta Gamma – Beta Omicron
Alpha Beta Gamma is a National Business Honor Society dedicated to honoring business students. The NECC chapter holds fundraisers for community organizations and other needs.
Delta Alpha Pi – Eta Phi
Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society recognizes students with disabilities for their academic accomplishments, facilitates the development of leadership and advocacy skills, and provides opportunities for members to serve as mentors and role models.
National Adult Education Honor Society
The National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS) is all about recognizing students who have shown incredible dedication and hard work in their adult education journey.
National Society of Leadership & Success
The NSLS is the largest leadership honor society in the United States, teaching the interpersonal skills that employers seek in the job market.
Phi Theta Kappa
Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, also ΦΘΚ or PTK, is the international honor society of two-year colleges and academic programs, particularly state colleges and community colleges.
