General Studies at NECC
NECC offers multidisciplinary General Studies degrees which allow focused course of study that meets students’ specific goals while fulfilling traditional college requirements. You can complete your first two years at Northern Essex and then transfer to a four-year school.

Individualized Option
Would you like to earn college credits while leaving your options open? If so, NECC’s General Studies: Individualized Option program will lay the academic groundwork allowing you to take advantage of all the benefits NECC has to offer.
Health Specialization
The General Studies: Health Specialization program features an option which is offered in a hybrid or blended learning format. This means that a portion of the course work is completed online and a portion is completed in the face-to-face format.
