Borrowing Materials

NECC libraries lend various physical items – books, magazines, DVDs, board games, graphing calculators, and phone chargers – all searchable through the library catalog. A limited number of laptops are available from the computer labs for short- or long-term student loans. Faculty, staff, and students at NECC have comprehensive borrowing privileges, including access to materials from NECC libraries, all Higher Education Libraries of Massachusetts (HELM) partners, interlibrary loan services, off-campus database access, and manage their library accounts online. For more information on borrowing materials, see our policy.

Request an item from another library

Are you looking for something the library doesn’t have? Check libraries across the state to see which other institutions might hold your item with ComCat Statewide Catalog. The NECC library will make every effort to meet the research needs of its students and faculty. Occasionally, a book or article is unavailable in the library’s databases or other HELM libraries. In those instances, the library will request the item from another library through interlibrary loan. For books, the turnaround time may be up to 2 weeks; articles generally are made available within 48 hours of request. If you need a book or article unavailable through HELM or the library’s databases, please fill out the Interlibrary Loan Request form.

Computers & Printers

Staffed by Academic Technology specialists, our computer labs are conveniently located on the Haverhill Campus- Bentley Library (A-330) and Lawrence Campus- Dimitry Building (L-149). The labs offer comprehensive support for students using Blackboard and Microsoft Office, along with assistance for printing, scanning, and general technology questions. Each lab has PC and Mac workstations, providing access to class-specific software, printers, scanning and copying services, and lending options for laptops and graphing calculators.
