Noncredit Accounting and Finance Courses Offered
Two new noncredit accounting and finance courses, through Northern Essex Community College’s Business Skills & Professional Development area, offer new and experienced business owners and non-profit organizers solid accounting and finance principles needed to succeed.
This 10-week, two-part, fast track program includes Fundamentals of Accounting followed by Business Finance Fundamentals. The classes provide critical skills and information needed to understand basic accounting and finance principles to record, summarize, and understand financial information, work with cash flow projections, financial statements, balance sheets, and budgets, measure return on investments and more.
Each course is $184. They can be taken independently or together to earn an accounting and Finance Essentials Certificate Program. They are offered Tuesdays 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 1 through 29 and April 12 through May 10, at NECC Riverwalk, 360 Merrimack St., Lawrence, Bldg.9 They are taught by Jim Chiafery, CPA, CMA, CFE, who shares examples in the classroom from his extensive experience as an auditor, controller, financial manager, investor relations officer, and fraud examiner.
