International Artist to Exhibit at NECC
The work of Juan Jose Barboza-Gubo, an art professor at Northern Essex Community College, will be on display at Northern Essex Community College’s ArtSpace Gallery, located in the Bentley Library on the college’s Haverhill Campus, 100 Elliott St., now through April 15. The artist will present a gallery talk on painting, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking on Wednesday, March 23, at 3 p.m. in gallery. This event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
This talk is co-sponsored by the Art, Design, and Photography Department and the NECC Foundation.
The ArtSpace is open Monday through Thursdays 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A resident of Jamaica Plain, Juan Jose Barboza-Gubo is a painter and sculptor originally from Peru. He has a BA from Catholic University in Peru and two MFA degrees from MassArt where he taught for five years. His work has been shown in museums and galleries throughout the US, Peru, Japan, Italy, and Greece
NECC offers Associate of Art degrees in illustration, visual arts, multimedia and graphic design.
