Three of NECC’s student athletes were crowd favorites in Haverhill’s Annual Santa Parade on Sunday, Nov. 18, although you may not have recognized them.

Jessica Goulet (volleyball and basketball), Aja Metcalf (basketball), and Kaila Nicholson (volleyball and basketball) were dressed in inflatable candy cane, elf, and gingerbread cookie costumes in the parade, which draws thousands of local residents each year.

Tom Sullivan of the NMTW Community Credit Union contacted NECC Athletic Director Sue MacAvoy and invited NECC student athletes to participate, along with Haverhill High School student athletes.

Goulet said that it was a lot of fun but a bit of a challenge. “I walked the entire half mile parade route in my candy cane costume which was almost twice my height.”
