Mike Dube Named Head Coach of Northern Essex Golf Program
Atkinson, NH resident Mike Dube has been appointed to the position of head golf coach for the NECC Knights program, which will resume competition in the spring of 2019 after a nearly 20-year hiatus.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to become a collegiate golf coach and look forward to bringing the program back to the varsity level and competing at a high level,” commented Dube.
Dube, who has served as an assistant pro at the Atkinson Resort & Country Club (home course of the Knights re-established program) since 2015, also works as head coach of the Timberlane Regional High School boys varsity golf program. He also has experience coaching PGA junior league golf teams. Prior to his work at Atkinson, Dube also spent time at the nearby Haverhill Country Club and at the Renaissance Golf Club.
“I’m pleased and excited to welcome Mike to the NECC athletic department and our larger community. His experiences on the golf course and his local connections will help our program thrive. I look forward to seeing where he can lead our reestablished golf program,” said NECC Athletics Director Daniel Blair.
An Atkinson native, Dube is a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School. He has earned credits toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Coastal Carolina University and has successfully passed Level 3 PGA certification. Dube will spend time this spring and summer recruiting a team to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XXI for the first time since the spring 2000 season. The program lays claim to the 1993 regional title.
