Ugandan Dance Troupe Headlines NECC’s Multi-Cultural Variety Show

The “Ghetto Kids”, a dance troupe from Uganda, will perform at NECC on May 2.

The “Ghetto Kids”, a dance troupe of Ugandan children and youth, will be the headline performers at the Northern Essex Community College African Student Club’s Multi-Cultural Variety Show on Wednesday, May 2 from 3 to 4:30 pm.

Free and open to the public, the show will be held in the Hartleb Technology Center, 100 Elliott St, Haverhill.

The “Ghetto Kids” dancers, now living in Lowell, performed at the Black Entertainment (BET) Award ceremony in 2017, wowing the audience and quickly developing a name for themselves .

Talent will also include an African fashion show, a magic show by NECC Chemistry Professor Mike Cross, Haitian interactive storytelling by NECC Professor Sheila Pierre, a guitar duet, and acapella singing.

The NECC African Student Club is open to African natives and others who share an interest in the cultures, music, foods, and politics of Africa.
