New Partnership Offers 24/7 Mental Health Care Access for Students
Northern Essex Community College has partnered with virtual health and well-being provider TimelyCare to offer students round-the-clock access to mental health support. The service is free and confidential. Students can visit TimelyCare.com/necc or download the TimelyCare app to log on to access the platform.
TimelyCare offers several different services:
TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, and depression. Unlimited access.
Scheduled Counseling: Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that works best for you. Limit to 6-10 visits.
Self-Care Content: Visit the Explore page within TimelyCare for guided self-care content. Unlimited access.
NECC Dean of Students Jason Arey says TimelyCare is meant to complement existing counseling services at the college.
“This increases the breadth of what we can offer students. If a student needs to talk to someone at midnight, they can find someone of their choice and make that connection instantly.”
Through the app, students can also opt to connect with local services and referrals.
“They can refer students to specific services and address things like housing insecurity, food insecurity, childcare needs,” says Arey.
Arey notes that there are many reasons a student might seek out counseling, and TimelyCare helps to strengthen that safety net for all students.
