NECC Theater Presents Soundheim’s Greatest Farce
The Northern Essex Community College Top Notch Players will present Stephen Sondheim’s musical “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” Friday, Nov. 4 and Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m.in the Chester W. Hawrylciw Theater on the third floor of the Spurk building on the Haverhill campus, 100 Elliott St.
Tickets are $10 General Admission and $8 for students and seniors. They are available at the door (arrive early in case of a sell out) or purchase tickets through MVARTS.
“Forum’ has been called “Broadway’s greatest farce.” Hero has fallen for the lovely courtesan next door, but she has been promised to another. If Hero’s slave Pseudolus can find a way to bring the two young lovers together, he will be set free. Lots of complications ensue.
The play is directed by NECC theater professor Jim Murphy. Musical direction is provided by John Berst.
