NECC Announces Making a Difference Award Recipients
As part of its year-long 50th anniversary celebration, Northern Essex Community College is honoring influential members of the NECC community who have made a difference in the lives of others.
Included in this storied list of recipients are entrepreneurs, philanthropists, a best-selling author, a well-known local restaurateur, accomplished alumni, and current and retired NECC faculty and staff. Each has contributed in some way to the growth and betterment of the college and to its mission of serving the people of the Merrimack Valley.
Last summer, a general call went out to the community for nominations. These nominations—close to 150 were received—were carefully considered by a committee of college faculty and staff, which made recommendations to College President Lane Glenn.
The recipients of the Making a Difference Awards will be recognized at a 50th Anniversary Celebration event on Friday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. at DiBurro’s Function Hall in Ward Hill. The evening will include dinner, an auction, and entertainment, including a student musical performance. Local news and entertainment reporter for NECN and KISS 108, Billy Costa, will be the Auctioneer. Tickets for the Celebration event are available.
