NECC Students Present Night of Theater

Submitted by on May 2, 2011 – 1:27 pm

“An Evening of Student-Directed One-Act Plays,” will be presented by Northern Essex Community College students on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Top Notch Theater on the third floor of the Spurk Building. Tickets are $8 for students and seniors and $10 general admission. Tickets are available at the door.

Find out what happens when a man, bored with his life, invades a home and tries to convince the occupants to take him in as the new husband and father…or when three mothers meet at the playground and discuss motherhood…or when a psychotherapist has trouble getting through to a patient. These are just a few of the scenarios played out in eight, 10-minute plays directed by and featuring NECC students.

Plays include” Your Money’s Worth” directed by Geehae Moon of Haverhill, “The Individuality of Streetlamps” directed by Diedree Glassford of Newmarket, N.H., “Not Funny” directed by Arthur Gomez of Methuen, “English Made Simple” directed by Joe Donlon of Groveland, “Grace of God” directed by Susan Sanders of Hampstead, N.H., “Untitled #2” directed by Erica Gould of Stoneham, “Family 2.0” directed by Dustin Kelly of Newburyport, and “What I Learned from Grizzly Bears” directed by Sarah Argenbright of Plaistow, N.H.
