Christopher Martinez

Christopher Martinez, assistant Special Agent in Charge with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, will present a White Fund lecture titled “Homeland Security in 2013: An Overview” in partnership with Northern Essex Community College on Friday, Feb. 8, at 8:45 a.m. at Lawrence High School, 70-72 North Parish Road.

This event is free and open to the public.

Originally from Worcester, Martinez is a first generation college graduate, who has enjoyed a career of more than 25 years with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and one of its predecessor agencies, U.S. Customs Service, since 1987.

He will bring the agency to life through stories his personal stories.

Currently stationed in Newark, NJ, Martinez currently oversees a financial investigations division, an undercover operation, and a Resident Agent in Charge office.

Martinez will speak on his experiences as a special agent. His numerous successes include dismantling narcotic smuggling organizations, people conducting financial crimes to defraud citizens and the government, working with our international partners to capture child predators, and assisting our law enforcement partners in Central and South America to increase knowledge and investigative capacity.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s from Saint Leo University. He is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Northcentral University.
