If there’s a silver lining to the COVID pandemic, it might be that online programs and support services at colleges are now stronger than ever. And that’s certainly the case at Northern Essex Community College.

Trustees have been hearing about the college’s new Lupoli Family Culinary Arts Institute in downtown Haverhill for years, but it wasn’t until July 14 that they had their first visit.

After a nationwide search, Dr. Paul Beaudin has been selected as the next vice president of academic affairs for NECC.

To date, close to 500 recruits trained at the NECC Police Academy have gone on to serve 58 municipal police departments, including Haverhill, Methuen, Lawrence, Andover, and North Andover.

Four of the nine new members of the NECC Foundation got their start at NECC.

This fall, NECC will offer two new micro-credentials, in Sales and Customer Service and Business Analytics, geared for those looking to begin, change, or enhance their careers. 

With the addition of Women’s Golf, the college now has 13 varsity sports.

Northern Essex Community College’s COVID Response Team, along with college maintenance staff, has been working for months to prepare the college’s campuses so that faculty, staff, students, and the community can safely return.

NECC is proud to partner with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department to offer educational opportunities at the Middleton House of Correction.
