Counseling and Psychological Services

The counseling center at NECC is here to support your personal, social, and academic development. Our professional staff provide short-term individual counseling, as well as proactive prevention, education, and consultation across campus. We can assist you during crisis situations and are a resource for referrals to both on-campus and community support services. Our staff is committed to providing professional mental health care that appreciates the uniqueness and diversity of all students. All services are confidential, free, and available to all NECC students.

TimelyCare (Beginning April 2025)

TimelyCare is a confidential, virtual health and well-being platform available 24/7 for NECC students.

TimelyCare.com/necc or download the TimelyCare app to access care.  You will use your NECC email/SSO (single sign-on credentials) for secure access to services

Cost

Free, 24/7 access to providers from anywhere in the U.S.

Available Services

TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand emotional support to talk about anything, including anxiety, relationships, depression.  Unlimited access.

Scheduled Counseling:  Choose the day, time and mental health provider that works best for you.  Limit to 6-10 visits.

Self-Care Content: Visit the Explore page within TimelyCare for guided self-care content.  Unlimited access.

    • Lifeline Chat – Anyone who is depressed, going through a hard time, needs to talk, or is thinking about suicide can use the chat. The chat counselors are available to listen and support you through whatever difficult times you may be facing.

    If You are in an Urgent Mental Health Situation

    Call or come to counseling and psychological services even if you do not have an appointment. Let us know that it is an urgent matter and we will see you as soon as possible. After hours if you are in a life threatening situation call 911 or utilize the following 24 hour resources that are available in English and Spanish.
